Solomons Rufous Fantail Rhipidura rufofronta (including commoda, granti, brunnea, ugiensis, russata, and kuperi) is split from the Rufous Fantail species complex on the basis of genetic divergence supported by differences in plumage and voice. Further division of this species may be warranted based on the structure of the phylogenetic tree, but require additional studies (Klicka et al. 2023; WGAC).
