Remarks
Polytypic Island Thrush Turdus poliocephalus is split into seventeen species based on UCE phylogenetics supported by geographical distribution, variations in plumage and, in some instances, vocalizations (Reeve et al. 2023; WGAC 998). This is a fairly conservative treatment and more splits may eventually be expected. Monotypic Mindoro Island Thrush T. mindorensis, the most deeply basal taxon in the Island Thrush complex (Reeve Clade A), is split from T. poliocephalus.
