White-browed Shrike-babbler

Overview

White-browed Shrike-babbler (Pteruthius aeralatus) is a species of Vireos, Greenlets, Shrike-babblers (Vireonidae) in the order Perching Birds (Passerines).

Scientific Classification

Genus: Pteruthius; binomial: Pteruthius aeralatus; authority: Blyth, 1855.

Distribution

Breeding range: the Oriental Region.

Conservation Status

This taxon is listed as Extant (living) in the IOC World Bird List.

Remarks

Blyth’s Shrike-babbler Pteruthius aeralatus s.s. was formerly split from the Pied [White-browed] Shrike-babbler P. flaviscapis complex (Rheindt & Eaton 2009). Change English name from Blyth's Shrike-babbler back to White-browed Shrike-babbler with re-lumping of P. ripleyi and P. annamensis with P. aeralatus.
