Central Melanesian Cicadabird Edolisoma erythropygium (including ssp. ultimum, saturatius and nisorium) is a species concept stemming from the taxonomic revision of the Australasian cicadabirds based on the integration of genomic and mtDNA data with assessments of plumage and vocalizations (Pedersen et al. 2018; McCullough et al. 2022; WGAC 1072). Its four subspecies (ultimum, saturatius, nisorium, and erythropygium) were formerly included in E. remotum.
