This taxon is listed as Extant (living) in the IOC World Bird List.
Remarks
Change English name of Phylloscopus [Seicercus] soror from Plain-tailed Warbler to Alström's Warbler (Rheindt 2006). Move from Seicercus to Phylloscopus with the merging of the former into the latter (del Hoyo & Collar 2016; Alström et al. 2018).
